Late Deepan Chatterjee

Sound Engineer

Deepan Chatterjee was a renowned sound engineer and an integral part of Four Frames. Mr Deepan started his career as a recording assistant of the famous composer R.D Burman in the year 1970 and continued to assist until the latter’s death in 1994. Deepan has worked on several films from different languages including Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu and English. He has won several awards and accolades for sound designing and mixing including a National Award in the year 1995 for the films Kaalapani (Malayalam) and Halo (Hindi). Mr Deepan Chatterji taught the art and engineering of sound to many including M.R. Rajakrishnan and Udaykumar.

M R Rajakrishnan

Sound Engineer

Medayil Radhakrishnan Rajakrishnan is an audiographer for Indian films. He won Kerala State film Awards for sound mixing in 2011(Urumi, Chaappa Kurish) & 2012 (Manchadikuru) and Pearl award by Kerala film Producers Association for the film Manchadikuru in 2013. His father, M. G. Radhakrishnan, was one of the most renowned Music Directors of Malayalam film industry and a maestro of Carnatic Music. His mother, Padmaja Radhakrishnan, has set her stage in the field of Art and Literature.

T Uday Kumar

Sound Engineer

Hailing from a middle class family, Uday unlike his friends took up arts stream during college. Then through an advertisement in the newspaper, he came to know about film studies and that’s how Uday joined the course and completed in the year 1998 and then joined ‘Four frames’ as an apprentice. When it was a big deal to become the legend Deepan Chatterjee’s assistant, Uday had the golden opportunity to be his third hand and learn innumerable, countless stuff about sound designing. He was the one who mixed for Oomai Vizhigal. Just like Resul, he was the face of sound designers in the early 80’s
